No more baby phase: part 2

How could a post like that have a part 2? I hope you are asking.

Well, you would not believe the phone call I got…

A couple days ago I got the strangest phone call from the mother of one of my best friends from high school. She told an intersting story.

My husband had waited until the last minute to renew his drivers licence so he had to take off of work early and rush to the licencing office before it closed. When he got to the front of the line the lady kindly told him he would need his passport if he wanted to renew his CDL certification. He ran home as fast as he could and got back just before it closed.

At this same time my friends mother was at a hearing for her nieces foster children. She was thinking of us off and on through out the hearing even though she had no idea that we were licenced foster parents. When she came out of the hearing my husband was there and she told her niece that she thought she needed to introduce the two of them. They had a friendly little chat in which she heard all about our story.

Well, he didn’t think it was as significant of a meeting as she did and didn’t even bother telling me about it. So I was very surprised a week latter when she called me.

She was asking if it was alright with me if she gave my information to her niece so she could call me with the phone number of her social worker. Her niece had just gotten word about some kids in need an adoptive family.

I burst into tears.

I thought the door had been closed on our adopting. It caught me off guard that we would have another door open for a possible adoption.

So, I will keep you posted. Perhaps it’s not the end of my baby phase.

Oh, and they are one year old twins by the way…
